Why a Special Retreat for Men, and What Makes These Retreats Different?

Over the years, Martina and Alex have hosted more than 55 retreats in Sri Lanka and numerous workshops and retreats across Europe. Interestingly, most attendees at these events have been women, with an average attendance of about 80% female and 20% male. Many of the men who did attend were accompanying their partners. Men seem less inclined to participate in this kind of personal growth retreat. However, those who did attend often found these retreats exceptionally rewarding, discovering new areas for personal development.

The Need for a Men's Retreat

Over the years, observing the men in the retreats, Alex wanted to create a special version just for men because he could see what most men were struggling with, and at the same time, there was no space and room to give extra time and attention to these topics. So, he wanted to have a separate retreat where he could share his Breathwork, Meditation, Yoga, Tao and Tantra experience. Especially for men.

Men and Women: Equal Yet Different

While men and women are equal, they are not identical. We have different bodies, perceptions, and emotional responses, which necessitate varied approaches to spiritual practices. Men, for instance, sometimes avoid yoga classes due to feelings of inadequacy regarding flexibility. However, yoga is not about how flexible I am; yoga is so much more. It’s a way of living. It's the same with breathwork; it's not about how strong or how much I can breathe; there is so much more behind it to discover.

Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energies

Every individual possesses both masculine and feminine energies. Recognising and balancing these energies is essential for personal growth. This retreat offers men a safe environment to dive into breathwork, meditation, and yoga, integrating these practices with Tao teachings and surfing to enhance daily life.

This retreat aims to foster deep personal growth and holistic well-being by offering a space tailored to men's specific needs.

We will teach you different breathwork, yoga and meditation styles to help you to let go of old stored emotions. They will help you as well to reconnect with your real power! You will take back 100% responsibility for your own life and meet your true self – the first step to a happy and self-determined life.

We will practice daily breathwork, yoga, meditation, mantras, and journaling and have different workshops on other topics. In the breaks is time to surf.

Massages, healthy plant-based food, and an amazingly supportive group will help you to dive even deeper.

This island is a magical place with lush green nature, offering the perfect setting to find inner peace, strengthen your body with yoga, and clear your mind and body with breathwork. Sri Lanka, the home of Ayurveda, one of the oldest healing systems, believes wellness depends on a balance between mind, body, and spirit. We create the perfect balance throughout the week, giving you the space you need to develop and thrive.

Daily Schedule

7.00 – 8.15 am Wake Up Yoga & Movement Practice
75 min Movement Practice based on the theme specific to that day

8.15 am Tea Break

8.30 – 10.30 am Group Breathwork Session
2hr Conscious Connected Breathing based on the theme specific to that day.

11.00 am Healthy Plant-Based Breakfast

12.00 pm Free time / Talks / Journaling / Workshops / Massages / Time to Surf

3.00 pm Fruit platter (optional)

5.00 – 6.30 pm Sunset Yoga / Workshops / Movement Practice
90-minute practice based on the theme specific to that day.

7.00 – 8.15 pm Healthy Plant-Based Dinner

8.30 – 9.15 pm Meditation

Note: The retreat starts with a welcome drink and snack at 3.00 pm on the day of arrival and ends after breakfast at 11 am on the last day.
